Collection, Processing & Selling of Tires — Al Dhafra, Madinat Zayed, Mirfa & Gayathi Landfills
A four-year programme with Tadweer covering the collection, processing and off-take of end-of-life tires across four landfill sites in the Al Dhafra region.
Scope of Work
Tarheel operated a full downstream chain for end-of-life tires generated across the Al Dhafra region — collecting stockpiled and incoming tires from the Al Dhafra, Madinat Zayed, Mirfa and Gayathi landfills, transporting them to a dedicated processing yard, and converting them into marketable secondary materials.
Key Operations & Achievements
- • Recovery and processing of approximately 250,000 tons of end-of-life tires over the contract term.
- • On-site shredding and size-reduction plant producing tire-derived fuel (TDF) and rubber granules.
- • Off-take of processed output into local and regional markets, including cement kilns and rubber product manufacturers.
- • Coordinated logistics across four remote landfill sites in the Al Dhafra region.
- • Diversion of a bulky, non-degradable waste stream away from landfill disposal.
